General info on 06 Civic

Whats up guys, used to be a frequent member here and I need some help. I'm looking to pick up an 06 Civic, I have been lagging a little in terms of research so I figure this forum has the most up to date info on these cars.

In terms of frequent problems or things to look for in the 06 Civics, what should I look for or should know about? I'm looking to pick one up with around 15-20k miles so its used...

Also, what is a realistic gas mileage you guys been getting with the automatic trans? Those EPA estimated ones are probably off so some realistic input owuld be nice.

Thanks in advance

Re: General info on 06 Civic

My 2007 EX coupe with auto has been a solid 25, which is mosty my commute to and from work, with the AC on lately. I have an 8 mile ride 50% highway and 50% side streets each way.
I go the the station every 2 weeks and pump 45$ to fill it, from about 1 bar remaining on the guage (low fuel warning light comes on at 2 bars -FYI)
about 12.5 gallons into the tank.

The R18A is awsome for such a economy car I am still amazed. I could get better milage I guess, but I love to get the revs up when I can and my comute is a bit short.

the factory 30/40 is a bit inflated, but I had an 100 mile trip at over 75 mph most of the way, that did not budge the guage.
I love my Honda !

Re: General info on 06 Civic

I average 34 mpg with mixed driving, I think that's pretty good.

I know you're asking for AT, but my MT 06 gets 36 mixed.

Re: General info on 06 Civic

Our AT gets between 33 and 36 mixed, but mostly city. If it's all-out highway we've done better than 43. Pretty nuts.

Only when I need to pass somebody, otherwise it's pretty steady driving.

IMO there's no reason to speed. I've already had 2 tickets and I learned that speeding just costs money whether you get caught or not.
