Re: engine break-in mileage
It should say in your owners manual to take it easy for 600 miles, and then have fun.
Some people redline it off the lot, others wait until it's hit 2000 before they take it over 5800 a single time. Hell, my best friend redlined his a few times before 600, and right after 600 he threw on the ajp kit. Motor's still strong.

Yeah I just got an 07 si too, I waited 600 miles. The people at the dealership and the owners manual said 600. But I couldn't wait and did it about 5 times before i was supposed to haha
Re: engine break-in mileage
MHM!
drive it nice for the first 500km or so, but even after that i wouldnt attempt to kill on it until after your 1st oil change.
As soon as my first oil change came about i dropped in the RP-Bomb!
(Royal purple) +1 FTW

Re: engine break-in mileage
8000k??? i NEVER heard that! the book says 600mi, i was always told 1k. i took it easy (nothing about 5500) for about 300mi, then starting driving normal. i also drive 40 miles roundtrip everyday for work, so im cruising at a steady 85 every morning and evening 6 days a week, and i feel like that breaks the engine in nicely..but maybe im wrong. all i do know is it runs as strong and smooth as it did with 9mi on it!
