Accessories for 07 Civic

Hey guys,

Just getting to know my brand new 2007 Civic EX...bought it last weekend. This car really makes my 200-mile-per-day commute doable. This car has to be the perfect balance of everything...looks, technology, coolness, and efficiency. I'm thrilled so far.

I want to add a rear wing spoiler and possibly fog lights to it. Trouble is, I really don't want to pay the dealer $600 for the spoiler and $525 for the fog lights. Obviously there are several options at going about adding accessories. What are your feelings/experiences on the best places to get these things and getting them installed? Is it a good idea to go with the OEM accessories? What about getting them installed? At least with the spoiler, you get get a pretty good lookalike for $100 on eBay...the question is, how good is it?

Thanks for your input!
Alex

Check out www.spoilerdepot.com
They have factory color matched spoilers for $199 and about $30 shipping.

I have a dealer account with some company, but can't remember their name. :P

Yes you can gets aftermarket parts on ebay and the internet. I am sure the quality is good. But getting them installed may be a problem. I had all the assessories put on my civic from the dealer. It does cost a bit more, but Honda will warranty the installed parts, the car will look better with OEM parts( I think), you can drive into the dealership and wait (where a body shop may want you to leave the car for a few days). I would rather spend a little extra money to get the work done right from Honda.

I WOULD BUY YOUR SPOILER FROM A HONDA DEALER , BUT SHOP THE DEALERS ON LINE AND TRY TO GET THE BEST PRICE .ALSO HAVE THE SPOILER INSTALLED AT THE DEALER SO YOU KNOW ITS DONE RIGHT. THE FOGLIGHTS YOU CAN GO AFTERMARKET BUT IT IS NICE TO HAVE A ON BUTTON IN THE FACTOR LOCATION. AND FIT AND FINISH IS ANOTHER PROBLEM . WILL AFTERMARKET FOGLIGHTS WILL IT LOOK GOOD INSTALLED AND WHO WILL INSTALL IT . I SAY AGAIN SHOP HONDA DEALERS ONLINE .THERE ARE MANY DEALERS IN THE UNITED STATES , IM SURE YOU WIL FIND A HONDA DEALER THAT CARRIES THE FOGLIGHTS IN BULK AND WILL PASS THE SAVINGS TO THE INTERNET .THE INTERNET IS STARTING TO BE A BIG BUSNESS FOR HONDA DEALERS. SO TAKE YOUR TIME AND SEARCH. YOU WILL APPRECIATE THE FACTORY PARTS, FIT & FINISH,QUALITY, AND WARRANTY.

I've ordered spoilers online for my last two cars and had them installed by the same company doing the sound system install. No problems yet. But I do like the idea of Honda covering it all.
Also, you can certainly find dealerships all over the US who will offer the parts around employee cost just to move more of it.

Ok, what about ... mud flaps? I hate the thought, but where I am in Oregon, the gravel on the roads this winter has been horrible.

Re: Accessories for 07 Civic

I am trying to find the spoiler on this car, but the Mugen website is down (or at least I cant get it to upload on my computer). I am not sure if the spoiler is produced my Mugen, but I cant find it on spoilerdepot.com or any other website. Any idea who produces this or websites to check out in my desperate attempt to find it?

Re: Accessories for 07 Civic

To answer your question, I bought my spoiler on eBay through:

http://stores.ebay.ca/autowingandspoilerking

The price and quality were excellent!

I also bought mud guards/flaps on eBay through:

http://stores.ebay.com/Mobile-Auto-Parts

I am looking for a hood deflector but can't seem to find any (with pictures). Has anyone bought one and from whom?

TIA,

Duckfeet

www.hondapartdeals.com isa great source for parts. I would use OEM parts just for fit and finish purposes. The Si spoiler is nice but it looks funny with the Ex lip on the trunk as well. I am also pretty sure that there are holes uinder the Ex lip spoiler.

I got the "splash guards" on my 2007 EX Sedan - they don't look too bad, but then they are actually hard to notice against the Royal Blue Pearl paint.

When hagglin' with my dealer over price, they wouldn't come quite down to what I offered, so we ended up splitting the difference by them throwing in some goodies instead - wheel locks, splashguards, trunk tray, sunroof visor and door edge guards. I'm satisfied
