First post. I just bought a 2007 LX civic (galaxy gray...quite a popular color). I haven't read my owner's manual fully. When should I get the first oil change? Also, is there a maintenance(miles)/schedule somewhere in the manual (could not find it)?

first oil change you should do between 3-5 thousand i dont care what they say, do not wait until that % gets to 15.
get your tires rotated every 10k as well as your brakes serviced

yea its definitely not hard, you just wanna make sure you leave the factory oil in for the full 5k miles its got additives for break in and special lubricants for seals

i think i read your cr is leased? in that case do it then but as far as i'm concerned it doesn't matter when to change your oil by the manual, change every 3k miles.. oil doent lat much longer than that... the "oil life meter" normally is a timer of sorts it doens't measure if the oil is old or not

Honda indicates, like Wadely said, that the initial oil change should not be done early as there are additives in the oil that help with engine break in.
I have a 06 civic ex coupe, i have like 3500 miles and like 60% oil life left, I will wait till oil life is 0% as manual states first oil change should be.I usually change my oil every 3,000 miles also..But i dont keep cars long...soooo.

Just kiddin. I agree with you 100%. However, If you have an engine failure in the warranty period and the manufacturer does an oil analysis that determines the viscosity was poor...good luck with that. Ive taken cars in the past over 5k and never had an issue. I try to keep up with it at 5k and use synthetic just in case I have an issue. It also makes me feel like Im doing something nice for my baby. Here's one for you...Remember the old Slick 50 commercials where they would add slick 50 then drain the engine oil and keep running the engine? If that really worked why even put oil in?
