Why do car companies always come up with the dumbest names for colors? I also like how they make most of the paints metallic so they can charge an extra $100-$500 dollars for the paint job.

I will never buy a car without a flat paint job just because I do not want to pay their rip off charges.

Black Pearl for me. I like any dark color, the only thing that does bug me is when its dirty.

I dont like silver or white, they are far too common these days.

They come up with names just for marketing purposes really.

I really like Nighthawk Black Pearl and the blue metallic one. They both look really good in my opinion on any car.

Im thinking of spraying my old car that color

I did not check out the actual prices, I just know it is standard issue for car companies to charge for metallic based paints.

I can confirm what Twinkle has said. I sold all the various ford products, Jaguars, Astin Martins, Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Mazda etc, and all of those lines had an extra charge for the metallics.

Which colors were sold as standard?
White, black, red etc but what else was sold without extra charge?

Sometimes they may have other colors as matte finishes, but normally you only had black and white that were not metallic. Then they would often have an off-white metallic or pearl, and also sometimes a black metallic. No doubt the metallic paint looks better, but it was like $450 more.

$450 is worth it IMO.
Its a small price to pay for a unique looking car. I see too many of the common colors around.
Having something different catches peoples eye.

Two tones

I had a 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sport Sedan that was White over Green. That's a color scheme I liked! Does anyone think two tones will ever make a resurgence as a factory offering?

Why I chose this color.

I chose Galaxy Grey Metallic becasue the optional 17" HFP Alloy Wheels for the 06 Civic are painted the same color.

I have four 215/45YR-17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 XL's to go with them.

Yes, that would look excellent if the wheels match.

Can we see a photo of your car?

Galaxy grey metallic is fantastic, that is the color of my lx as well, the website really doesn't do it justice. I would have called it pewter or something.

I went with galaxy gray because its neutral, easy to maintain and not eye catching, don't need any more attention to my cars, espcially on LI!

Put me down in the Atomic Blue column. It's the same color as Julie Banderas' suit currently on Fox News Channel. The car only comes with the gray interior. Take it or leave it. I think the other LX interior (ivory/yellow/tan depending on how the sunlight hits it) is an Atomic Bust. I've had the LX for 10 days. Fun to drive.

yea that red and black combo is crazy hot, but need the red gauges, not blue. I personally got my black and tan, which is elegant, but i wish they had the black inteiror available for the black ext. would make it so much sportier....o well.

I know black is a bitch to keep clean, but when its clean WOOO!, u guys gotta give black props

Shoreline Mist Metallic is like very light beach sand color. Something you see on a Florida beach which is where I live. Since it has metallic flakes in the paint it gives off a nice glitter effect of wet sand.

Wanted to try black pearl - I know it's tough to maintain but the reflection is tough to beat. A black coupe is very hard to get in Hawaii. There maybe only 1 or 2 others in Hilo.

The Shoreline Mist Metallic is very nice and the ivory interior is great too!
