Bodykits

Anyone have a bodykit on their Civic?

If so, did you get it custom fit, or was it a pre-made Civic kit?

Yeah that wing is bad. Some people like them, not me though.
In fact i dont like bodykits much at all. I will agree the razzi one there is probably the best, but i still prefer my civic kit-less.

The headlight shape is different, so it's going to take some nice fabrication to get it to fit. It's not impossible though. That's what I did.

A lot of people have kits on their civic's. I have one. I'm not done installing it yet. Mine was custom fit, because I got parts from another car. There are many many pre-made kits that are supposted to fit without modification. However, whenever it comes to fiberglass fabrication, the companies that are making these kits are making them as fast as they can, cheaper, better etc. That means that there are ALWAYS lil things here and there that make it harder to get one installed. Such as pinholes from resin, or excess fiberglass that needs to be trimmed. If you purchase a kit from a respectable and usually but not always, more expensive company you can install with less hassle. C-west, Bomex, Veilside, etc.

This post was from over a year ago...

Get back onto the new question about the 80-90's body kits.

Re: Bodykits

Ha ha, nice.....Crumb pulled a fast one on me!

To be honest I don't know? Did Honda make a civic back in 1986? Honestly I have no idea. The only body kits i've seen on these sites go back to 1988:
There are a few styles on Erebuni's website:
http://www.erebunicorp.com/ge/hcivic88.htm
And some one Bodykits.com:
http://www.bodykits.com/v2/xcart/cat...153-full-kits/
Aerotrends Four door:
http://www.aerotrends.com/store/cust...e.php?cat=1095
Aerotrends Three door:
http://www.aerotrends.com/store/cust...me.php?cat=382

You might be able to try looking for a lip kit for it too:
http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=...ip+kit&show=dd

Hope that helps!

Re: Bodykits

yup, bringing it back from the dead. so i was looking at duraflex kits and they are really cheap. worried about quality.. need to fix my rear cancer b4 i get a kit, but i am thinking of getting a kit or maybe just lipping it. but i really hate how the rear bumper isnt closer to the ground and dont think a lip would do me any justice. anyways, difficulty of installing body kit? painting? gel coat finish on duraflex? diy or have a shop install? how much? how much 'fiberglass' work was needed to product b4 installation? was also wondering how much to lower my car. stock now but maybe 2" or a little less? i run 205/40/17 in summer and don't want to rub.. thanks

Re: Bodykits

Thats a lot of questions, which is why you probably didn't get responses, just take it slow.

If you want to discuss lowering your car make a separate thread or do some research.

Installing a body kit isn't difficult depending on the amount of experience you have, but painting takes a bit more practice on pieces that large. You shouldn't need to do any fiberglass work prior to install, unless you want something custom. Shop or DIY is up to you, depending on the kit it would be around $1000 for paint and install at most shops.
