If your going to install the full hp header, its alot quicker to take the front motor mount off the car to cut it. I cut part of mine off before i thought about it.
you can find the first DYI here you can find the first DYI here
ok, with the car on jackstands place a jack agenst the transmission. dont try to lift it at all, you only need it so nuthing moves when you take the mount out.
now you can unbolt the mount, there are 3 bolts holding it to the motor and 1 more that holds th emount to the frame. start by unbolting the mount from the frame. the red lines outline the part of the mount i cut off.

this is what the bolt looks liek when you get it out, the tab on the nut fits into a slot, so it wont fall when you take the bolt out.
then can unbolt the mount from the motor. you can get 2 from the top, and the other one from the botom. there will be another bolt where the red circle is in the pic.

now you can take the mount, pull it out from the top.
It looks liek this when its out
before you put the header in, you probaly want to trim this piece, so that the header wont rattle.
use a hacksaw or a sawzall to cut a noch out of it. (you need to cut further down, then to the right to take the piece out, some of my pics didnt came out blury)
now you can put in the header, start by pushing the header up on the drivers side then slip the other side past the bracket that the motormount bolts to. its a tight fit, but it will go.
try to reinstall the mount without cuting it. I dont think it will fit, but it might, i couldent check because i already hacked a piece off mine.
If it wont go in then you have to trim it. put it in a vice so you can make a clean cut.
this is what mine looked like after i trimed it
reinstall the mount. you might have to play with the hight of the jack a little, but you shouldent have much trouble. just dont cross thread it. after the mount is bolted to the motor, bolt the mount back to the frame.
bolt up the header and your done. dont forget to put the donut gasket inbetween the header and the cat, or it wont seal.
you can find all the other steps you need in the 1st dyi, the link is at the top.
goodluck

it just fit right in without removing the mount or anything? thats interesting.....and why bother taking the mount out to cut it? just cut it while its in the car cuz thats easier.....just take off the old header and theres plent of room to reach from inside the engine bay or to do it from under the car....no reason to fully take the mount off unless you want to play around with tring to get the header in without cuting the mount....imo i think its not worth the effort to remove the mount

if you have a 5spd it wont go in with out taking the mount out or cuting it. if he has an auto it will go right in.
trust me its quicker to take the mount out and cut it, it takes 5 mins to take it out, and you can make a cleaner cut

My question is.. why do you have to trim/cut the engine mount? Can you just take it off and put the header on then the mount. That what i did. Took off my engine mount and put the header in then put back my engine mount back in is not touching.
