exhaust piping...

ok... there are 2 main sizes for aftermarket exhaust systems for our cars...

2 1/4" piping, its about half an inch wider than stock
2 1/2" its 3/4" bigger

ok.. the main performance difference between teh 2 are this..

the 2 1/4" gives u more torque and some extra hp...(dont quote me on teh hp)

as for 2 1/2" thats more high end power...

since our cars only displace 1.7L and we are not turboed or supercharged(most of us)

now... the guy at the muffler shop told me that 2 1/4" will do me fine without major mods...

and as we all know restriction = backpressure = torque....

so i was like sure why not...

now the 2 1/2" lets more exhaust out... but is really limited due to the restrictive intake manifold

if you had turbo u can probablly swing a 2 1/2" but the 2 1/4" should probablly help with the mid-range power where it is most needed...

that is all...
