4wd 7gens?
Hey guys,
It would be interesting to get our drive train upgraded to 4wd. Anyone has feedback on that? prolly not worth doing but out of curiousity, it'll be cool to get that done if possible. Anyone know the likelihood of that being done? All them k20 swaps n stuff, why not 4wd? ^_^

Well, the flat floor will make it a bit interesting to get the drive shaft in there... I suppose the CR-V platform could be used, thats Civic based, but look how much room is under it for all the stuff.
If you re-did the floor pan to fit the drive shaft transfer case and the differentials, it might be possible, but it would be one hell of a squeeze.

not to mention the pricing on that. Damn...if only we didn't need to do anything to the platform and just cut a gap for the drive train ^_^ and reroute the exhaust or somethin. Bleh...more feedback! some1 can prolly pull this off someday. haha

Uh a awd wheel civic is very possible honda used to make a awd integra type R the car was only made for a little over a year and never made it out of japan it was also not fast as it was powered by a D17
so you can only imagine . so a awd civic would not be hard to do it would just have to have a bigger engine or a stock turbo or it would eb too slow

There are 7th gen sedans that have AWD in Japan! They use some sort of hydrailic link betwean the front tranny and the rear differential and an ECU that varies the hydraulic pressure to transfer more or less power. I don't know much more than this, but I would kill to get the parts to do this conversion!

accually the tsx is suppost to be AWD in japan, so what if we swap the k20, turbo it and then just get the AWD tranny from a tsx and mod it to our cars? that would be so tight... or do the same thing that the crv has and get that ttranny.

It wasn't a type R, it was called the Integra XSI which had a B16 engine cranking out 160hp.

No it was a d17 read the last months issue of either honda tuning or super street it has a article about it in there thats why it wasnt popular cause it was slow if it had a b16 it would have sold better
