hahaha, I installed a RSX Injen Race Division intake into my Civic Ex. Thank the Lord for trusting in myself and friends
. (and not trusting you ppl, j/k you guys are the greatest) Its not a direct bolt on of course, but it just requires some custom work to make it fit. As you guys know, the RSX Injen RD intake is only one piece, and with another piece that I added on, now its like a "Mid Ram". Anyways, just feel like sharing it (and prove you guys wrong, j/k got carried away) .
COOL COOOL, now my car's loud enough to set off ppl's alarm with the intake alone

I don't see what the big deal is. An RSX SRI on a civic? You do know that these things are engineered to work best on the car they were designed for, right? Oh well, ghetto fabolous is the only way for some.

You know, I didn't install the RSX intake for gains or looks or what not. Just that I am planning to do the K serie swap (which will be a long time from now) so I don't want to waste money on a Civic intake which I need to take it out later. If you read my previous post http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...threadid=93384 then you know why I installed the RSX intake on my civic. Never thought its such a big deal anyways, but some of you just said forget it it will never happened or something along that line.
P.S. I probably gonna take a few pic this afternoon, keep on checking

How is the intake held in place? i bet its not. its probably jus laying there. Also, the heat shield is jus about useless as the way you placed it.
EDIT: I'd laugh at you if you made another thread in a few days...
"HELP! PLASTIC FROM RSX INJEN CAI MELTS ALL OVER ENGINE BAY!"

you know, that plastic piece has been on my friend's MR2 for almost a year now. He used it for intake until he actually went to bought an "offical" one. So I doubt the plastic part will melt any time soon. Btw, if you installed an intake on our civic, you'll know that its also plastic. Also our engine bay is so tight that the intake is not even hanging. The only part that's movable is the section near the connection, its got about 1inch upward movable space. (so it will only move a bit when i go over a bump or something). I will make a custom bracket for it soon.
P.S. about the pic, if you got 56k or something, please do not complain about it. As is, this board doesn't seem to load as fast as other board anyways. Thx

when i touch my intake pipe after driving for a bit...i know my pipe is HOT. so if it doesnt melt ur plastic (btw...that doesnt look like the same quality plastic as all the other plastic parts in an engine bay) then good job for you.

you know what, i have the injen race division intake thats actually made for our cars. If i take the cold air extension off and just put the filter on its the same thing! Why do something half assed if you could have done it right and got what was made for your car the first time.

I re-read Hasport's article on the swap. They cite that the engine bay on our cars is like the Civic Si, not the RSX. So two things are claimed by them. One the Type S intake manifold does not fit. And you should use an intake made for a CIVIC SI.
By this I wonder why you want a RSX intake since it probably won't fit once the K20A is installed. Another thing is that you stated that the intake was not mounted, but that it was such a tight fit you didn't worry. I don't worry about it boucing around, but rather rubbing on another component. The next thing I really question is the whole flex tubing on the last portion of the intake. While I don't doubt that it won't melt, I know that it is harming the flow of air in towards the throttle body.

I dont know why you didnt just buy an intake for our car, then when you decided to swap, sell it and get an rsx, or si one. you wouldnt lose thaaat much after you resold it. And you wouldnt have some ghettorigged intake for now.

the intake is mostly lending against the battery, I'll double check for anything important its rubbing against. Because everything's mostly static (stationary) on the side of the intake, I don't think it will cost any problem. Also I think that the RSX intake will fit into the car, just that the mounting points might be different, and its nothing a custom bracket can't fix.

that must look ghetto?
