Question changing ECU

I just bought an ECU unit with JetChip from one of the member and guess what?! I got screwed . The ECU works only with certain key. So I cannot start the car. Call local repair and performance shops, they directed me to the dealer. I went there. The dealer would make a keys work with new ECU, but it would go to the database, and if something would happen to my ride - I have a problem , cause it would be no longer under the warranty.
any ideas what to do?}confused:
I hope that user will take it back, because he did not inform me. And if any of you thinking of upgrading your ECU at JetChip , It will void your warranty guaranteed! It will show that data is different when they plug in the scanner. And from that point you are on your own

Thanks in advance

If I could just make my extra key work with that damn ECU so dealer would not know about it. It should be the way out there...
Any ideas?

Well at JetChip(or CrookChip) web sites, at FAQ, they claim, that chips will not void new car warranty, are C.A.R.B. approved and 50 state legal, will improve hp and even gas mileage, will not hurt the engine and so on... I guess they are bunch of crooks!

well i believe there was an law passed by congress back in the day about how a car manufactor cant automatically void your warranty if you add an aftermarket product. BUT in reality if you had a blown shock then they couldnt say that your ECU did it. where as if an internal engine prob occured then they could blame it on the ECU and you would have to pay for it....

You're right, could not void because of my shock, but that ECU covers a hell of a lot things, and we all know what the honest men dealers are
