not without boring... B series has an 81 mm bore, D is 75.

B series engines are more neutrally balanced than D series engines. I mean, they have a larger bore and a shorter stroke to get the same displacement. It provides a more even power curve and more overall power. D series engines are actually torque biased (stroke is longer than the bore is wide) and they still make more HP than torque, the B series is torque biased too, but not nearly as much. D17's are 75x94mm (bore x stroke), B series are 81 x something in the mid 80's. I think the B16 is 81 x 84.
