H22 in 7th Gen is possible
Allright, I happened to check out a forum topic about the H22A prelude motor in a 7th Generation chassis and how impossible it is!!! To all the people saying it is impossible and it takes thousands of dollars, etc etc etc...you really don't know what you're talking about. About a year 1/2 - 2yrs ago, I had the H22a in my 2001 civic. And not with POS brackets just to get the motor in there. I landed a job with a well-known motormount fab. company which gave me partial sponsership, and DID design polyurethane mounts for the H22 in the 7th. Gen Civic.
The H22A fit with no problems other than very limited clearance for the stock intake manifold because of the long, low-torque engineered runners on the manifold. Now, I do believe it's possible to use the stock intake manifold, I don't advise it b/cuz it will end up kinking the air lines. Believe it or not, our small *looking* engine bays even allowed the H22 motor to be equipped with power steering and AC!!!
Now to address how rich you don't have to be to do this. If I remember correctly, I was 18 back when we started this. I'm not a CEO and I didn't have any money-tree position like that. I worked hard and only made a little over minimum wage. So yea, you don't have be rich!
VERY UNFORTUNATLY, I had to take the H22A out and put the sadass D17 back in b/cuz of personal issues. But I'm seriously planning for a K-series swap for 2 main reasons:
1) My car's 2nd home seemed to be the local impound yard thanks to cali's finest. And I can't afford to dish out anymore money b/cuz of some corrupt cops. Having a motor thats older than the yr. of the car in Cali is illegal.
2) Why use old technology when you can improvise on newer, more effecient & cleaner engines, and still achieve the same/more power???

I'll see if I can have my old boss to send me some pics so I can show all you guys. I also forgot to mention that there was also a problem with the front(if i remember correctly) motor mount bracket that's welded on the subframe interfering with the placement of the motor. All that needed to be done to fix that was to cut the brackets off and re-weld them to the correct spot on the subframe. It might seem like it's more of a problem and nuisence to have the H22A in the 01'-up Civic, but it's not...just takes a little time, a careful thought.
Show me your titties, I'M RICK JAMES BITCH!!!

wow, thats awesome, i really hope u get pics of it, im just replying to subscribe to this thread, with this new site, im not sure how to subscribe to it
At first I didn't think power steering would work because I was comparing it to the 96'-00' motormount kits. And the thought of keeping AC was completly out of the picture to me, until the engineer told me there was enough room. To keep AC tho, the stock fans(AC fan atleast) had to be replaced with either a thinner one, or a pusher-type fan which we were going to use.

All you flamers are so damn stupid(esp. the S2000 moderator) it's funny. Allright, I don't have any pics yet. If you really want some damn proof...Call PlaceRacing, Inc. (626-334-3345) and ask about the BIM06 motormount kit for the 2001+ Civic.
I dunno why you guys would want the H22 in there though when you have a K-series swap that's way less trouble!! The K20 most likely weighs alot less too and can put out the same, or more HP & TQ than the H22.

What are you... black99vtec's brother?
You sir, just owned yourself.
Well, I don't think you talked to the right person then. When I get my hands on a digital camera, I will take a picture of the prototype BIM06B mount that is in my car right now...
J/curious...who did you talk to??

Oh wait... I didn't talk to the right person now? even though I talked to a rep as well as an assistant manager? What, is this company so great they don't even know what they do and don't sell? And I'm locking this thread, since we don't need 2 on the same subject.
