Will it hurt if.......?

My mom has a 1997 Honda CR-V EX. She brought it to the dealer for a check up/oil change/service type deal about a week ago. My dad drove the CR-V yesturday and notice the engine was alot louder. We popped the hood and found out that the air tube coming from the air filter box to the throttle body wasn't connected properly and had fllen down below the throttle body. There is no filter in that box like there is on our civics, so i was wondering, would my mom had already noticed something if something had gotten into the open throttle body? We notified Honda already so that they can atleast put it on record that they ****ed up not us.

Take it to honda and have them do a complete check on the system since they messed it up and it is on record. As for your mom already noticing it I dunno.

Probably the only thing that could have gotten sucked into the throttle body would be a little dirt. After my friend's intake got stolen (along with his system) he drove all the way from San Diego to San Bernardino (120 miles or so) with no intake on it, and his car is fine. I doubt that anything worse than a little dirt got sucked in, shouldn't be anything to worry about.

There is most likely no damage at all, but I would still take it to the dealer and make them check it out.
