anyone ever hear of someone sticking a cone threw there hood right above the throttle body?? could you do this an make it look good and run safe wiht a hoodscoope?????? suggestions.. awnsers? PICTURES?????????

one would think that there would probably be a loss in power in the powerband because air needs to have a certain velocity in when it enter the throttle body... ya know...pro/con of CAI and SRI type thing.

I wouldn't use a cone. I would adapt the top of the stock airbox to seal to the hood, then cut a hoodscoop in the hood and direct the air straight onto the filter. The thing you'd have to worry about is sucking in water. Which makes a hood scoop kind of dangerous unless you have some way to get the water out before it hits the throttle.
Might try making something to pull air in through the foglight opening in the lower grill and up through the stock airbox, or re-route the intake behind the upper grille.
