MaintReq light on!

My maintenance required light is on i dont know why, imean i do change the oil and everything on time
so could somebody tell me why is it on and how can i turn it off?[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

This is found in your civic manual and through search here. Basically it is a way for the dealership to make money off you. Don't worry about it and I found a previous post which tells you how to turn it off.

FYI...Hold down the trip button and turn the key to the second postion(no need to start it)...Keep holding it down until all the lights turn off on the dash(most of them will...you'll know)...Keep holding it and turn key back...Then let go of the trip button...YOU'RE ALL SET!!

lol if its something wrong and you do that, then you will f**k uop your car later, just take it to autozone they put it on the computer for free!

nah, it is telling him to take it in for an oil change from honda. just do the DIY for it and shut it off. that is even what the guys at honda told me to do.

No, you're thinking of a different light that is an engine light. The light he's referring to just means it is time to get your regular maintenence done.

wait till it stays on all the time and then reset it. or just duct tape over it if it bothers you too much

yea, it is set up to automatically come on at certain intervals of mileage. Just reset your ECU. I found that if you unplug your positive terminal for several minutes and then reconnect it, that will sometimes erase the ECU as well.
