d16 manifold

do any of you on the board know if a d16 intake manifold will bolt up to the d17 (im pretty sure it doesnt), cuz i know the manifolds suck and if there is a difference could it somehow be fitted?

well i think it can bolt on, but our intake manifolds go more up... the d16 is more out.... so it would be going thru the firewall....

at least i think so...

Also then you have to consider custom piping since the throttle body would be on the side of the manifold instead of the top like the d17 setup (thank you honda for screwing with a time old design...) You could always have a custom manifold machined if you really dont like your stock one, but trying to rework your existing one will not do you too much good, you can search on it, its been discussed quite a bit a while back.

edit: sorry, i was referring to custom intake piping.

i would do a custom manifold if i had the cash, rather than wasting money messing with the d16, which would probably end up costing more. there's still hope that a company like skunk2 will make a manifold for the d17

the D16 Focuz manifold can be shaved to fit in our D17 buts its hard and expensive.

I was wondering this same thing. So I went to honda and got print outs of the two intake manifolds. they won't fit I guess if you shave them and do some work on them they will fit but will have weak points. Its more then the throtle body being on the side. the ports are completely different sizes and shapes. I would advice against it.

is there any way you could post the two pics of the manifolds?

i would agree and advise against it too. its be very complicated to make it fit and will be bad if done wrong.
