would anyone buy a Racing intake type headlight housing for the civic? I may manufacture some tha have the same shape and will have a funneled in design that passes through. You would have to relocate the battery to the trunk so that you could place the filter ot ducting directly behind the opening. would you rather this be a street legal one with say a projector in the housing? or just a straigt race application. any ideas welcomed.
doesnt look like it.. that would be one fall back..
I would think you would have to remove the battery for a filter, (i have no idea)
plus I dont know how the cops are, they might nag about that one head light.

i'd go for that...would you make it so you could do custom piping for a turbo etc? which side would it be? because if someone swaps a k20 and wants one i would imagine the drivers side would probably be a better side for one of those...but on the stock civics the passenger side would be better...

yea.. im not sure if cops will hassle you.. was gunna see about putting lights in it, or at least keeping the turn signals perhaps. i will do the first design for the stock motor likely and have a fitting after the housing..so if you have turbo piping to hook to it ETC you can.....i suppose customs could be made for swap applications. may have to make one for our swap car anyway

ya turn signals would be needed in the headlight to make it legal...you dont HAVE to have a headlight during the day....i mean i see tons of cars around here with only one headlight working...i guess it depends on where you live on how strict the cops are...but turn signal is needed
I wonder if theirs room to run the intake right behind the upper grill? That'd be sweet and still totally leagal.
Just a though, don't know if it's feasable.

its a HEADER (singular) and nothing would run by the header......that would be pointless to heat the air
Sounds interesting, but loosing your headlight is not an option for many people. A replacement grille with an integrated ram air would be kick ***! I would buy one if you made one. Plus have some sort of heat shield to keep the heat from saturating the intake ducting. That would be very nice.
I think guys it would be impossible to make a ram pass through your grill beacuse the radiator fan blocks the passage way for the tubing. I think you can make one pass through your fenders or your bumpers youll just need a long rubber tubing, clamps and that circular that is used in making a subwooferbox- the thing that is the passage way of the speakers air coming out when it boom booms, got it? Guys you could do this stuff without spending $$$ just your imagination and creativity. Ill give you a sample ok

ram air doesn't really work unless you're travelling at a constant speed and a high speed at that. even if you could travel at 100+ mph all the time, you'd still have to do some serious scientific calculations to determine how the system would be designed to actually benefit the performance of the vehicle.
remember also that our cars can only flow so much air at any given time. a simple CAI will provide more than enough and at an ambient or lower temperature.
