diy painted headlight

heres the deal, i have already cleared my lights and i was thinking about painted the housing. N e one with tips on how to keep paint off of the area i dont want to be painted (signal area / parking). would tape keep the paint from leaking in, or is there a better way?

There's actually some good info on this subject. You just need to Search for it. Alot of helpful tips on how to do it, what paint to use and what not. Also, masking is gonna be your best bet from keeping paint from where it's not supposed to be. I plan on doing this myself in the very near future too.

Use some of that blue painters' tape and be careful around the chrome. I hear its very thin and can peel right off.

i painted my housing black to match my car and i just used masking tape and an exact-o knife. but you gotta be careful.

Just use masking tape, thats what I used and it turned out fine. I masked off the blinker and the parking so...yeah it will work.

hey man. i recently painted my housing black on my car. heres a tip. use heat resisitant paint; the light bulbs get pretty hot inside. take your time and dont wash the housing with alcohol before u paint. it doesnt work and u'll have spots everywhere...so dont do that!
