Carpet Removal

In the next few days I'm going to rip apart my carpet, doors, and whatever else I can get into to have a "little" Dynamat fun. I was wondering, before I start this project, does the carpet inside the car basically just come right up then go right back down or am I going to have problems putting it back down? I saw in some places by the firewall that it have velcro and it seemed to be almost formed to the car.

Strider-

I was thinking that if there wasn't already a DIY for doing this, then I would do it and maybe one for dismanteling the door. Of course I'll be asking questions so I don't screw up my car in the process.

The carpet comes up but not back down. They are glued down so if you pull it up, and I mean you will have to really pull it up, you will have to get new carpet laid down most likely. Why are u dynomatting the floor? It will give you a chance to get new cool interior carpet tho.

when i changed my carpet the stock carpet pulled right out in one big piece with no problem. i had everything out like seats and center console and stuff, but it came right out. and i used that template and glued the blue carpet to that then put everything back in and it went in fine. it shouldnt be a problem.

Well that will be a problem then. I have no plans on getting new carpet nor do I have the funds. I'm installing it on the floor to reduce the road noise. Anybody else have any ideas concerning this?

I would like to bump this thread as I have a few questions about the carpet as well. I need to lift up the front carpet in order to secure some diamond metal floormats ($10 from Pepboys ) as well as clip some screws that are poking up from the bottom and re route my amplifier cable.

How Do I get the door jams off? It looks like I would have to take off the seatbelt mount. How should I go about lifting up the carpeting (both driver and passenger side.)
