0W-30

Has anyone else used 0W-30 Oil yet? Considering it's colder than a witch's titty here, my car spends more time outside than in my nice warm garage and it isn't going to get much warmer until spring, I opted for the better cold starting stuff (vs 5W30). So has anyone else ran it yet, or am I going to guinea pig it? I've got 4 quarts of Mobil 1 going in tomorrow morning.
(I did search, and found no threads about it)

If it gets below freezing, i would NOT reccomend that weight.

sure it will work, but wouldnt you rather have something better, and that wont be all thick on a cold start (ie more engine wear, herder starts, longer time to crank over...)

A 0W-30 is going to be even thinner than a 5W-30. The lower the number, the thinner the oil, remember?

Yes it's thinner. I know that. And according to Mobil Oil, it's better for starting cold. But if all you guys don't think it's a good thing to put in, then I can just go switch it for 5-30 in the morning. It's not in the car yet.

My comment was for the HondaGuru...a thinner oil would be better for your application since it would be thinner at the lower temp than the 5W would be and would start easier but would eventually get to the 30W viscosity.

thinner oil will freeze and coagulate more quickly.

5w-30 synthetic is perfect for our civic in all weather temps, there is no way you will have to worry about freezing, oil simply cannot freeze, it might get slightly thicker, but it will not get to the point where you will have problems starting or running your car.
