This might offend you, I am not sure you'd get it because it doesn't seem like your going to make it. I couldn't understand half of what you just typed.

1.8t is faster, doesnt guzzle as much gas and it is lighter. I believe the vr6 costs more also.

civics can be fast. theres a boy at my school with a 95 civic dx and he has a gsr engine in it and hes pushing 245 hp. so a civic can be fast you just gotta know how to do it and you need the $$$$.

Is it a 12 or 24V VR6? I can't remember if it was 01 or 02 where the engine changed to the 201 HP/195 ft-lb DOHC one. You can supercharge a VR6, there's kits to do it. I think it can be turboed as well, but I'm not sure how hard it is to do. Depends how far you want to go... You can probably get more out of a 1.8T, but the new 24V with the 6 speed is butter smooth. It's going to be faster than your Civic ( I think 15.3 in a 1/4), but if you plan on putting a lot of money into it power wise, a 1.8T would probably be a better platform.

No, the turbo 1.8s and the 2.8L V6 (B5 Passat) have 5 valves/cyl, but it was tough enough to give the VR6 24V DOHC... look at the valve diagram...

The original 12V was DOHC, but worked like a SOHC V6... each cam controlled the intake and exhaust for 3 of the cylinders. Now there is 1 cam for the intake valves in all 6 cylinders, and 1 just for the exhaust.

Well let me shed some light... I drove an SI prelude for a little while and was killing everyone cause I thought it was soooo fast... Kinda felt like, what can be faster? But this vr6 was on the road and absolutely OWNED me... I don't like it because it is non-turbo but yeah, they are fast.

those sure are close together, i guess that's how they shoehorn that 6-cylinder into the GTI's engine bay

It's a 15 Degree V... The engine basically works like an inline 6 (one head, 2 cams, intake in one side, exhaust out the other), but is only the length of 4.5 Cylinders... so basically the same length as a 4 banger. It's really an ingenious idea.

whats i was trying to so say was that next summer i was going to get a turbo for my Civic but if im getting the GTI i can spend that $4000 on a supercharger for the GTI!!!! it would then be faster then the 1.8t! i have heard that it would put the 174hp up high 200's!

ummmm...."Wantobedoneup"....how do I put this nicely??.....you are a f**king idiot....I don't trust you behind the wheel of a possibly turbo'd car much less a peugot!!!! you can't fu!king spell, nor can you put sentences together correctly which tells me a few things......mainly that you can't even reread your own fuc!ing words correctly....I'd spell out my curse words if it weren't for the moderator gods on here.

I don't give **** about anything else on this post at this point since I've been so badly p!ssed off about the way you (and other idiots) go about your wording and use of language on here. by the way, if you want a turbo kit for your car go after edelbrock....yes, I said edelbrock...they aim to please.

here's an example...they are the only company to offer a kit for the 96-00 years that's C.A.R.B. legal. I'm sure they'll oblige your illiteral ****! for your 2k+ needs....damn maple leaf idiots..............must be the frost bite from all the freakin snow an sheit!!!!!!!!!

Dang it, you are so mean... The guy was trying nad really wanted information, and anyway, congratulations to yourself, 'illiteral' isn't a word, and "hoe" is not spelled correctly. You may want to edit that so you don't look like a jackmonkey...

By the way, for your sake, I hope you really do speak Japanese, French and Spanish; I'm sure someone here speaks one of those languages...

Um, ok... I will give you some credit for being drunk, but illiteral is NOT a word, and yes I do have that dictionary, and wait... ok, it is confirmed, that is NOT A WORD... Two more things: go ahead and use that dictionary and define poser for us, also, the word "technicalities" deserves no apostrophe, as it is not possessing anything. Learn how to use apostrophes buddy.

Well Stackz....you better learn to use your "University" educated mind to be civilized instead of acting like a 6 year old and making fun of someone's english. Consider this your one time warning about flaming. Any more of it and you'll no longer be welcomes on this site.
