launching a manual

i have seen this topic covered before, and i tried to search but it kept saying an error occured while processing my search.....so my question is, what is the proper way to launch a manual, ie: at a stoplight or at the strip.......with the clutch in and reving it to like 3000 and then just letting the clutch out, it always stalls...can someone tell me how to properly launch? thank you

clutch in, gas it up (3k is good, but i can launch at 5k), green light, clutch-out/floor it(do both at the same time)

don't let the clutch go first b/c the rpms will drop.

also u don't have to step on the clutch all the way. you can just press so it just barely doesn't engage.

BAD BAD BAD for your clutch, it's slipping the clutch and will burn it out so fast your head will spin

i think w/stock tires... 3k or 3500 is pretty good. once you get performance tires, you just have to figure out which rpm works best for u.

its all about practice man. rev it up to the highest point to where your tires arent going to spin when you drop the clutch. and dont drop let the clutch out super fast. do it in a quick manner but....just dont pop it out. practice practice practice

i find that a lil' spining of the tires isnt exactly a bad thing when you are working w/ 100 or so HP.....it lets traction break for a sec and lets the engine pull into its power band easier.

then a quick shift into second usually pulls me out of the whole very well....that quick shift to second is where i usually gain ground on those who cant shift as well.....

that is my experience w/ a 195/60 15....i havent tried launching my 215/45 17's just yet...i dont want to peel the money away

i let my dad drive my car the other night and the first thing he does is dump the clutch at 5k rpm and leave a beautiful slab of rubber, along w/ nailing 2nd gear and a 10 foot 2nd gear patch....i was like "wow, my car did that"....it was cool.....it wasnt one wheel peel either!

after the fact i was like ...."hey dad, you gona buy me my next set of tires?"

If your on the street launching at around 3k is good what you can do is dump the clutch: Keep your RPM's up to 3k with your foot slightly to the side of your clutch resting on your dead pedal and just side step at the same time have WOT this isn't the best for your clutch but it is the best for launching. If you have an aftermarket clutch like a 6 puck it will grab hard and launch you. If you are at the track you can usually launch about 500-1k higher due to the surface but you want to try to hook...spinning tires doesn't get you down the track faster.
