Help...odd question
All:
Could someone please check their gas tank filler tube for me? Here's why...Yesterday I pulled into one of the last full service stations in my area with my EX and told the attendant to filler up. He did and I pulled away. I looked down at the gas gauge and it was about an eighth below full. So I went to another service station and opened the lid and unscrewed the cap. I looked at the filler tube and something looked odd: there was no fume cap thingy. You know that thin metal cap on a hinge that you just stick the nozzle of the gas pump past? My other cars have one. And I can't remember
if the Civic had one. Would someone be so kind to check theirs to tell me? If one should be there, I can only imagine that it broke off somehow and fell into the tank. I hope I'm wrong.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Yes...that's what I'm referring to..that "flappy thingy" that acts as a second cap. Hmmmm...is it possible they are breaking off and falling into the tank? Or maybe they never had one
I'm confused.
Anyone else ?
Thanks much,
Bob

Thanks for all replies. I really thought the Civic had the 2nd door in the gas filler tube. I maintain 5 cars for my wife and daughters including the Civic, no wonder I'm going goofy. The other 4 have one.
At least I can stop worrying about the thing rooming around inside of my gas tank.
