i'm thinking... the D17a2 shouldn't have a problem fitting. it's a direct bolt-in.
as for the other engines, and why there isn't a swap, type in 'swap' in the search menu. it's been two years since the civic came out, and a year since the RSX. i'm sure SOMEBODY has asked the same question before.

according to Import Builders (The people who did the swap for H-town) any b-series, or k-series motor will fit except for the b-20 and h-22.. they are too large. It's just as easy to put the rsx-s motor in your car as it is a b-series motor. for the cost, you might as well cut off the front end of a rsx and weld it to your car. The whole subframe needs fabricating. Also, the running cost on a swap into a 7thgen is around $10,000. The only legal b-series motor would be the 2001 integra (b18)

AS of this point there is NO direct bolt on there HAS to be fabrication for anything other than what you got in there...im personally gonna get the H22....lol
h-series and b-series are also only legal if you have a 2k1, or if you can find a 2002 model year engine from japan. again, the easiest and best chance of being legal swap is the k-series, either the k20a2 off the rsx-s, or maybe the k24 off the new cr-v.
