Flywheel nuts : Please read.

Does anybody know the best way to get those flywheel nuts off. There are 6 of them on there. All 12 point. I read somewhere that they have 80 lbs of torque on them. The darn flywheel moves so that makes it almost impossible to break them loose. If anyone has any suggestions let me know here asap. I'm calling places to see if I can rent some air tools but even if I found some...my darn gf took the other car shopping or some stupid ish like that.

You're probably gunna need an impact wrench. YOu could try leaving the car in gear, maybe then it won't spin....

Would a ring gear lock stop the flywheel? A breaker bar should take care of 80lbs of torque.

Have a friend hold a prybar/big screwdriver in a tooth and wedged onto a "spot" on the block.

Thanks for the info guys. A friend came over and we used a screwdriver to hold the teeth with the dowel that keeps the tranny in place when the nuts aren't on. My brought over a pipe to place over my breaker bar and that combined with a hard rocking movements broke the nuts. I got the pilot bearing replaced and happened to take in my fork and throw out bearing to the shop too to see if there could have been a problem with them...and there was...I'll make a new forum for that though since it's pretty important.
