blue led dash w/pics
finally completed the project today. the a/c button is dimmer compared to the other lights, thus the reason why it doesn't show up it the pic. it is the furthest button from the led bulb so it doesn't pick up that much light.

If you could please let us know where you obtained those LED's with wires already attached it would be great.
If not... do you know the specs for the LED's themselves? There is a company that sells LED's (eLed) but I need to know the specs and haven't had time to tear into my car.
Thanks

You can try Varad.com. They have some Hyper LED's there that I think have wires attatched (looks like it from the pics). Hope that helps a bit

i also have done this ( check my members ride for results ). BUT, i am going to be trading my car back into the dealership soon, and need to convert back. when doing this, i had removed the Orange Gels. Right now i am missing 2 of the Gels, the ones that go on the A/C, Defroster, and circualation buttons. If anyone who does this DIY has saved their gels, and would be willing to sell them, please send me a message, i will either send 5 dollars cash or paypal u the money just for 2 of the little oarnge gels. thanks a lot.
EDIT: in my pics, i got the leds off of ebay. i looked and couldnt find the guy again.. and he didnt leave me feedback so couldnt find him from their

i got the led's off of ebay. i don't remember the seller off hand, but there are a couple of them. do a search for 'blue led' or 'led lights'.
yeah, my gauge needles don't light up because i fried the cluster and all of my interior lights don't work (that's the reason i did this project in the first place). that problem will be solved once i get more led's.

Could you be a little more specific in what to search for? There are like 1400 matches for blue led most of which are windshield washer lights.
You could also look under auctions you've won if you don't remember who you won them from.

Heres the auction he won with the LEDs:

That looks sweet man. I am looking at Varad's site now. I wonder how the Red would look in my car.
I know they are Red/Orange right now, but if these are hyperlights then it would look cool.

the only spec you need is pretty much what the max current for all leds would be..which is typically the max current is 30mA...blue leds tend to cost around 4-7 dollars each...if you want a few pieces go directly to a manufacturer and ask for several samples...i did and they sent me 8 leds...4 blue and 4 white...
hope you didn't pay too much for your leds...btw...looks good...but does that hurt the eyes when driving at night?

the dash requires 4 leds, 2 for the temperature controls and 2 for the recirculation/ac/defroster buttons. the blue lights don't hurt my eyes at all.
i fried my cluster after installing my kenwood head unit. i think i connected the dimmer wire to the radio wire harness. after that cluster smoked and took all the dash lights with it.
btw, i heard conflicting things about the odometer. my friend told me that the mileage is kept in memory by the ecu, and not the gauge cluster meter. but many 7th gen owners say the opoosite and that if i get a new cluster then my mileage will be zero and that i will have to get it recalibrated. this is how this whole mess started. if my friend is right, then i would've just gotten a new guage cluster and i didn't have to bother with the indiglo and leds. so what's the fact?
