engine swap
haha, yes.... i am still new to this thing, and i've been asking around. now, since i've been in the forum(back in october) members have said how no other engine can fit in the car, besides the k20. those statements cause htown to swap a k20 into his car now. yesterday, iw as at a friend's house(he does a lot of car work) and he was working on a crx, and when i looked at the crx, the enine bay don't seem that much bigger than ours, but it can fit b16 in it? infact, the guy that was driving the crx said my enginebay looks deeper than his crx(?) and then i asked a friend joe, he said with some welding and custom engine mounts, he is almost sure i can fit a b18c(teg type-r?) into my car... ? so i simply want to refreash WHY we can't fit anything BUT k20 in to our vehicle.
cause thats how it is dont ask questions JK lol i dunno maybe the whole fact of putting an older engine in a newer car .... also the k20 is the next big thing for honda why not put the next best thing for honda in your car . anywhoot i think if i had about 10k right about now id have a jdm k20 in my car
but i dont so i dont have a jdm k20 in my car but dosent mean i wont later on muhahahahaha

the big problem with the engine swap in the 2001- civics is that the d17motor spins backwards as opposed to the k or b series engines. the body mounts are 180 degrees different than with most other hondas, i have yet to see anything being done yet. but i'm sure somebody will think of something sooner or later. check out this months issue of honda tuning for more details. peace

If Stephan can put a h22a in a 2k1 civic why could you not fit anything such as the

Here's a couple of problems I see with a B-series swap:
DIS(distributorless ignition system: our cars have it, and we would have to swap it out for an older distributor-based system)
RFS(returnless fuel system)you better believe you need a loop system to make a b-series engine work.
Legal problems(I'm pretty sure it's illegal to swap in a motor that's from an older model year than your car.)
The B-series spins the same direction as our engines do, but the K-series swap sounds much more feasible to me.

Someone on here tried to fit a b18 into the 7th gen, and the shock tower interfered with the engine. When Honda changed the suspension to Macphearson strut, it pushed everything forward and up, giving you more legroom, but less engine bay room.

dammit,
I am sick and tired of the stupidity of the people who keep posting messages about b series swaps. it makes it so damn difficult to find good info. BTW i myself am interested in a b series because it might possibly mate to my CVT Tranny. Something i believe might be impossible with a k series.
Anyway, as far as swappable b series engines, heres a list
2001 DOHC Vtec Integra (b16 - 160hp)
2001 Integra ALL OTHERS (b18 - various ratings)
2001 CR-V (b20 - ???)
others im sure
so dammit, quit saying its illegal, its getting damn old.
oh yeah everyone keeps telling everyone to search because there is so much info, but look around, they are all dead ends like this one. There isn't ant REAL info i've seen
PS: does anyone know if its possible to fit a CR-V engine with a b16 head (or other into a 2k1 hx coupe and mate it to the CVT transmission (dont post that bs about the amout of torque the cvt can handle cause ive researched that and found no real evidence)
