Hey guys i am getting my tint done tommoro and i was wondering what is better for the back 10% or 5%( is this to dark)
I have a coupe and i do alot of driving in the night so i need to be able to back up!?!?! so would 10 still look good????

I'd get it the shade lighter than limo-it looks really flattering to the car and it doesnt have that PURPLE look to it, jus my 2cents

i have 5% on the back, it's fine except at night.... i think it's a bit too dark. heh, get 10%

you could always use your mirrors to back up......but tint that dark does irritate me when i'm driving...i have 20 on my back windows, and that doesn't affect my visibility at all at night time....the only time it's really too light is when it's realbright outside. But 5% does look pretty hot.....if you don't like it it's not that expensive to have redone anyhow.

I have never liked 32 myself, if I had to I would put up with 22% but I had 6% on the back 3 and window strip and 22 on the front windows and I hated it. I went with 6% all around and yeah its a little dark at night but I drive in the City and can even back up just fine with it. So I haven't had any issues 6% keeps nosy thieves out of the car and those stupid drivers that like to stare at you and be nosy.

I would say get Solar Gard or llumar tint installed both look good.

I got 5% on mine and it looks good but i dont mind rolling the window down and using my mirrors to back up so i say 5% on the back looks tight

yeah, i have a silver coupe and got 5% in the quarter windows and the rear window, if it wasnt against the law in nj to tint the front windows, i would get them done. the 5% looks great with the silver body

Should'nt you check with local law and see what's acceptable or illegal. I know around, it seems like they could care less cause I've seen extremely dark *** tint on cars. You can't even see inside. Pretty creapy.

i have 8% in the back and it is fine man and i have NO reverse lights (well i do but u cant see em' custom black tails) anyway are u talking bout just getting the BACK? or ALL WINDOWS (except windshield of course)...if ur talking all windows get 5% and if ur talking just back get 5%! i want ALL LIMO mom wont let me tho [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/IMG] sallgood do what u want tho man just be careful if it is illegal were u live like me

Yeah Arizona could care less except the front windows that are like 35% but like everyone here has like limo on all windows. So who knows it all depends on the officer I have heard the Highway Patrol DPS are the only ones I have to watch here. But I don't know about that I got pulled over by one and I had 22% and he didn't even care, that was before I got limo on my front windows.

But I think its kind of stupid if you have a sedan and you have 4 doors and the back windows can be limo and could have weapons and so forth in the back there but the driver can't have limo? So the guy in the back could have a gun or something and be pointing it at someone right, the guy in the back seat I would see as more of a threat then the driver he is active driving. But just my $.02 I think that tint laws are just dumb, LOL if you can have whatever on all the other windows but not the front 2 doors.

just make surethey se 3m tint cause the autozone tint is cheap and has that purple look to it..3m is the best brand out there...and sicne u are gettin it done professionally might as well get your money's worth...or u can get teh 3m tint and do it yourself..its fairly easy all u need its a razor blade and a sqeegy

hey what are some good places in nj to get window tints done? I have heard tropic window tinting in union, nj is good. Anyone from jersey have the front windows tinted? I was thinking of getting it done and then just peeling it off worse case scenario when it is time to get my inspection done. also how much did everyone pay for their tint jobs?

I payed 170 for a window strip and all 5 windows with whatever percentage I wanted. Yeah Solar Gard and llumar are the best tints I have seen so far.

Thanks to everyone for the input i did check with the cops in and it seems like 30 is the darkest you can have on the front 2 but lumar only makes 35 so i am not sure but as far as the back i guess i will just have to use my mirrors cause it does look good with the 5% and the place that i am getting it done said that if it turns purple in the next 10 years he will change it soo what odds!!!!!! i just hope that i can get away with the 35 does anyone know if lumar makes a 40 or something like thats!!!!

My mom got 22% put on her front windows and she got pulled over by a cop for speeding and he didn't even notice so chances are slim you will get a ticket for it. So I would go 22% or so a little more privacy and to me 35% is like having no tint on your window, I have had it before it was horrible. Just my $.02

Yeah I have solar gard and my buddy has llumar and they both look good. So should look really good, try to post some pictures, tint really adds a lot to your car.
