REMOVING BUMPER QUESTIONS

I know that there is a DIY on clearing your corners, and there are plenty of posts on it, but some people are telling me that I don't have to remove my bumper. I don't want to be such a newbie, but I want to do it the easiest way without f**king up my car. Thanks

Actually, there is a way to clear the headlights without taking off the bumper!!! Yes there is!!! Read on... Here are the steps:

1. Tools you'll need: hammer (doesn't matter on the size); super glue
2. Take the hammer and smash your headlight (doesn't matter which side you start off with).
3. Take off the orange marker.
4. Once, orange marker is off, glue back the headlight all together.
5. Voila! Now you have cleared your headlights!

Hope this helps!

yes you do have to take the front bumper off... the diy is very detailed.. it is easy, but a little time consuming to do it right ~ well worth it though...

The DIY for this is very good, but you might want to duck your head under the bumper before you take anything else apart. Due to an encounter I had with a tall parking curb, I had scraped the bottom of my bumper a little bit, causing one of the plastic clips to break. The bottom half was still lodged in the whole, so I had to perform surgery (drilling) to get it to release. Check for this ahead of time so you can get to a dealer and pick up any replacement clips you need ahead of time. If you can get em fairly inexpensively, you might want to pick up a few extra in case you break any along the way.

be super duper careful when clearing your headlights. anything you touch will be marked forever. dont get dust in there either, because it'll show through at night. and dont scratch the chrome like me.

Hey, you dont have to take your bumper off all the way. Do this:

1: Unscrew 1 screw on each side of the fenders
2: Pull the bumper back (use a little muscle)
3: there you go

just make sure you have like a 10" extention for your socket wrench. That is the easiest way to get it off. Cost like $3.00 and it is useful to have.

oh yea, when you do that, the bumper will just hang there, and you dont have to take out all the clips on the bottom splash guard. Much easier.

I have taken the bumper off several times to put in diffrent projectors. Its not really hard, just takes a little time. Id say make sure you have wratchet extentions, if I remember correctly some of the bolts and in there a bit. Also, keep track of where you took the clips out/off, I figured they were all the same and they arnt!!!

Open the hood

Remove the clips on the radiator cover (red in pic)

Remove the phillips head screw in the fenderwell.

Pull sides of bumper out of fenderwell.

Pull bumper forward

Using a 10mm socket and a 10" extension remove all of the bolts that are marked in green.

reverse to put it back on.

i was really scared to mess with my car but when i had to take off my body kit for the winter, it was either paying a bodyshop 150 bucks or doing it myself. i tried it by the directions on this site and its soooo easy. once u unscrew everything, pop out the sides of the bumper under the fenders and then push forward, it'll pop out really easy
