This guy that works at a local shop and lives in my apartment complex says my tires are on the rim backwards. Since I dont know shyt about tire mounting I need to know is this possible? I ordered them from tires.com and they mounted them for me. I just figured they were straight.

if you have directional tires, there should be arrows on the sidewall pointing which direction they should be traveling. you should have two tires for each direction, and if the arrow on your tires is pointing backwards, all you have to do is switch the wheels from one side of your car to the other so that all the arrows point in the right direction. if you don't have arrows on your sidewalls, you don't have directional tires and it doesn't matter, your friend is full of it.

The only thing I can add is that the tires should have the arrows pointing in the direction the wheels spin while the car is going forward.

Most likely the tire shop installed them correctly, you just happened to put the lefts on the right side of the car and vice versa.

Basically, directional tires have the steel and polyester cords wrapped around the tire for the most efficient forward travel.
