Hey guys how do you take off the rod that holds the hood open

Rep Power: 0 I wouldnt mind finding an answer to that one either, but what I want to know is who knows the guy that knows how to install an pneumatic lifter rod to replace it? I have the hook up from my company (we produce industrial wastewater equipment with lots of fabricated steel tanks with air strut rods to lift the heavy steel covers up off the steel tanks so parts arent a problem, perhaps a DIY project for someone who has the time to write it up after they do it?

If you'll check the DIY's....you'll see I've already done this mod on my car...I designed and built custom hood struts to replace the hood "bar".....so check it out and if you have any questions just ask me..Peace!

I wanted to know because I just installed a GRIP of that silicone hose into my engine bay but I can't get it onto the hood rod. I kinda spliced the hose and fit it around it for now, it's not noticable but I still should do it right once I know how to get the rod off.
