Dont know numbers about how much power your gonna lose but I can tell you that as the tires get bigger its gonna take more power from your engine to get them moving. I think 17 inch tires are the best all around to get because they're not too wide and a little lighter than tires 18 inches or bigger. You gotta figure that your cornering is gonna improve and you'll make the time that you lost up there. But, everyone has a different opinion on things so check around.

As long as the overall diameter and the weight stay close to stock, there should be little difference in power.

When I got my 17's I could feel a definate power loss.
I think my rims are very heavy. Try to get light weight rims.

Rotational mass has a much more pronounced effect on acceleration then say, an anvil collection in the trunk. Our little engines need all the help they can get. I don't know why anyone would want to handicap our cars any further by puttin' on some *bling* *bling* 30 lb chrome pizza pan wheels.

it's the difference between sprung and unsprung weight. Heavy wheels would hurt your power and MPG. While having a fat friend in your ride would not.
