Re: 2001 civic ls engine swap

The best and easiest swap for your 01 civic is a k series. The b series are harder than the k in your car.

It will cost you more than your car is worth.

Dont know what you mean by that but hopefully you mean which k series will be best. Some of the best k swaps would be the k20a2, k24a2 or the k24a1.

My personal favorite is the K24 with the k20a2 head, but definitely stay away from the B series, its a much harder swap than the k series.

Re: 2001 civic ls engine swap

Best thing to do is sell ur civic and buy a car that already has a K in it

Re: 2001 civic ls engine swap

depends where you go, you cal call JDM, Montreal HOT LINE, or some other places

last year i called Montreal Hot Line, (its not stolen stuff its just how they are called) unfortunatly i dont have their number anymore but their price range was
K20A1/A2, K24A1/A2, or w/e how the K's works in 20/24
Motor. tranny, wires, cables, custom mounts to fit bolt in your car, clutch, flywheel, trans axles to fit the difrence, Everything comes EXEPT motor and tranny oil :P

Price range was aprox 4000-6000$

mileage on motor/tranny around 20000km to 60000km
if the motor/tranny comes from japan, they have a litle more power, duno bout torque
from what i heard, K20 here is 190hp, from japan 220hp, ?
K24 here 220 hp? and from japan is 250 or 260HP
try eBay, kijiji if your luky, if you are in moncton go see downforce, they can find it but they charge almost 10000$ to do the full swap, unless you just buy everything there and bring it to your home and do it urself,(good luck)
it is true K series fits easy on a 01-05 civic, and the B series fits harder, but i like the b series beter cuz its really easy to blow a K series if you miss shift compare to a B series(personal experience)

That is what i know and my opinion

Re: 2001 civic ls engine swap

if it was me i'd probably buy the base line 02 rsx then mod it. it has the 160hp k in it. sells here for 8k. you wouldn't have to pay for labour, or the supporting mods like engine mounts, electrical harness, ect... just say'in is all.

Re: 2001 civic ls engine swap

Just buy a car that's made to go fast. Why do all of you guys always want to spend all of this money swapping slightly quicker engines into front wheel drive cars? If you spent the same amount of money on a rear or all wheel drive and/or a V8 or V6 you could go so much faster.

I say use a Honda for what it is designed for and invest money elsewhere.
