Help. Broke screw that covers spark plug

A friend helped me change my spark plugs to the iridium NGK's. All went well until the last screw to put the long cover in the spark plug hole. He tightend it too much and it broke. My question is is it fixable and how much of a big job is it. Also should i drive the car. it comes up just a little when driving but need to fix it.

Its a 2006 coupe EX

This is not my pic but similar. That screw broke so the whole long threaded screw looks like needing replacment.

You sure you have an '06? Looks like a D17 valve cover to me..

In case you typo'd the 6 instead of 5, here's what you need.. #3 on the drawing.

Re: Help. Broke screw that covers spark plug

well, if you go to that website I linked and search for the part number (12315-PLC-000), applicable vehicles that show up are the 05-08 Accord, 01-08 Civic, and the 08 Odyssey..

Hey There,
I have had the same problem today. I over tightened the screw on the spark plug cover and it broke. I am unable to fix the nut now, since it is cut halfway. Can I drive without that nut. or do I need to fix it.
Thank You
Rex

Re: Help. Broke screw that covers spark plug

I bought this part(12315-PLC-000) like you guys suggested, do I have to open the engine to fit in this screw or is it fairly simple.

Right now my car runs fine without putting back in the nut on one of the spark plug.
Please help me out.
Thanks
Rex
