need tips to jack tranmission from ground back to engine
I've been battling my transmission since yesterday trying to balance it on a jack back up to re-bolt after a clutch job. it just wants to pivot around and its so damn awkward to balance and slide into the engine.
my previous attempts were set up with the jack pointed at the engine under the wheel well. jack up tranny and try to roll it forward towards engine-> and wiggle.
the fact that I'm still trying to mount it shows how successful that has been. my back is tired and my helper is losing motivation. any tips that might make the job easier?
edit: :
finally got it. we walked away from it for a day and came back and got it back in and started bolting it back up within 10min. (not the safest way- he lifted tranny while i laid under it to hold it up while he shimmys it. after a ton of junk in the face it slid right in).

Re: need tips to jack tranmission from ground back to engine
make sure that you lower the engine a bit on the tranny side. the belt side of the motor should still be attached to the front mount. I lowered mine down approx 6-8 in. this helped tremendously. I just did it this weekend, and got the motor mounted back up in ten min. play with the height a bit to get it right. good luck and let me know how it goes.

not the front mount where the tranny bolts up but the front mount on the drivers side. (the only mount left) all other mounts should be removed (middle front and rear)
