SC300 vs SC400 vs 944 Frankenstein
Hey guys
I'm looking at picking up a project car this summer and I can't make up my damn mind! My daily is a honda, it always will be but I'm looking for something to have fun in on the weekends etc.
I had a couple options and they are as follows
SC400
1UZ-FE engine
10:1-10:4 compression, 256 hp-290hp 260 - 290 hp ft/lbs
5 or 6 speed LSD Supra trans NA build
SC300
2JZ-GE
220 hp - 209-220 ft/lbs trq
2JZ-GTE swap or boost the GE with 5spd or 6 speed supra LSD trans
Porsche 944
Throw away the crap motor
350 s.b. swap
F20c S2000 swap
J30 Accord V6 swap
K20 turbo swap
What do you guys think? I know it's not a Civic but just wanted to see what y'all thought. If you vote say why pleaes?

There are a few sc300 2jz swaps running around houston and they are NASTY, that and you can go pretty wild with the turbo upgrades. the 350 in porsche would be sick as well and not nearly as common to see around.

Re: SC300 vs SC400 vs 944 Frankenstein
i was watching some on youtube and even the NA-T sc300s were wicked fast. I've been researching (UNLIKE a noob) and using the search button (again NOT like a noob) i'm kinda dissapointed that there is not much aftermarket support for the 1UZ V8. It's a great little motor and there was a guy that came from a land down under that spins his to 9k. There's oodles and oodles of aftermarket goodies over seas just not any here. Most people just do I/H/E use the apexi SAFC and make 215 whp..... kinda lame. One guy just put NO2 on it and put down 252whp. Still kinda lame considering I can almost do that with a b-series NA -1000 lbs. It's looking more and more like the SC300 is the way I'm going.

the sc300 definately, 2jz for the win. the only diifference between the gte and ge motors are oil squirters in the block to help cool the cylinders...and of course the turbo. but thats easy to fix.

Re: SC300 vs SC400 vs 944 Frankenstein
this guy has a sticker on his 2jz timing cover that says 2JZ! NO ****! its awesome funny if i get the 300 i want that stick lol
Re: SC300 vs SC400 vs 944 Frankenstein
Im feeling the SC300 - capable of mammoth amounts of horses. ... dont really like the V8 in the SC400 due to lack of "tunability" (well the ease of tuning atleast) and the porsche is just nasty looking in my opinion.
