speedo
speedo
Hey Guys,
Need some help. Have a Honda Civic 2000, and got my first problem. When I go to start the car my speedo needle acts like a volt meter races to 60mph then returns to 0. And when I start driving does not go higher than the 20mph spot and will stay there for the entire journey. Any info or information on cost to repair either DIY or a professional would be greatly appreciated.

Re: speedo
My car was doing the same thing and I also have a 2000 Honda Civic. It turns out it was the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on the Transmission that went out. It's like 100 bucks but it's easy to replace. Not worth taking it into a mechanic. If that doesn't fix it It could be the cluster itself which you can find on ebay for around 60 bucks but I would bet it's the sensor.
Is your odometer working?
