i would like to know if i really need the stay bracket for the d16y8 intake manifold. i dont want to spend the 30 bucks on a new one if i dont need it

The metal bracket that connects to the intake and the block? You don't need it and I have mine removed.

i think you only need it with the stock intake box. i took mine off as well. does yours hold the intake mani on, or does it just bolt to it to hold the airbox on?

just so we are on the same page this is a support bracket if you will on the back side of the manifold itself, i am guessing that it bolts to the block but im not sure, i am doing the d16y7 to y8 intake mani swap and currently do not have that part and am wondering if the 7 bolts on the block are sufficient enough to yold the wieght of the mani + sra

yeah that im bracket isnt necessary technically, but i had bad rattling when i took the bolts off. i would say you might need it. try first without it, if you notice weird noises while accelerating, then buy it. the motor and parts do alot of moving around under load.

anyone know where i can get the throttle cable plate and return spring short of buying a d16y8 throttle body

ya i was looking for cheaper theres some people are here for less than 20 bucks but thanks for the tip
