What is the ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE Alarm System
First of all. I admit I am a newbie. So take it easy on me.
With no experience on DIY installation as well as the time to do it.
I have NO choice but to hire to have auto security installed.
As I read this forum. It says that several layers of auto security is best.
To quote from another forum
"The best setup ....an alarm, complete with tilt sensors, hood sensors, glass break sensors, 2mile LCD pager and the Ravelco."
I was thinking on this layers of protection....
Ravelco
+
Auto-Bolt
+
????????
I understand that there are several brands of alarm available out there--Viper, Python, Astrostart, Clifford
Any comments on what cost-effective auto-protection to add OR............................
Kindly post which ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE combination you will have, if you have to hire somebody to do it.:
(Kindly tell brand, model you have in mind)

Re: What is the ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE Alarm System
well it sounds like you already did your homework so now the onley cost effective thing to to would be to search for good deals via internet ,ebay, local electronic stores also search your local installers for the best price. or you could just buy a pitt bull and keep him in the car ???
Re: What is the ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE Alarm System
I would personally go to your local dealer and see what they offer. Most have a base price/upgraded/ultimate at least. Then they will have things you can add-on for some extra money. See what they have and buy local. We need to support local businesses more then anything and what they have is as good as what you will find online.

I've heard of people putting minutes on a prepaid cellphone (that can be tracked), hardwiring a phone charger into the car and leaving the phone on (hidden) so if the car is stolen the police can track it down.

how about dont leave anything valuable in the car and you wont have any need for alarm. locking the doors is the best.
Re: What is the ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE Alarm System
I have an autopage rs-727A. It's a two-way alarm and it works very well. I got my audio stolen last december (someone got a nice christmas present...)! They broke my lock... First of all alarms don't always help neither does parking in well lit areas. If they want it they will get it... It's inevitable! So make sure that you take the faceplate off of your stereo and park indoors whenever possible. Also don't advertise with stickers on the side and crap like that unless you are glued to your car wherever you go. Back to your alarm question: I'd recommend autopage. They are well priced and do what they need to. The installation will probably cost you the most!
