Hi - I'm hoping someone might be able to give me a couple tips.

I'm removing the alternator from my 89. Got nuts/bolts off, got wires off on back of the alternator. But I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the pin out of the bottom of the alternator. I'm at a point where the alternator swings loosely, and I can see the pin/bolt moving as I swing the alternator. But, how do you push that bolt/pin through to get it out.

I took the front driver side wheel off, and the shroud for the crankcase off to get at the alt since it's in such a difficult spot. Just can't get that pin out.

Any ideas? Am I missing something easy?

try hitting it with a rubber mallet? it should slide right off the pin. maybe you are pushing the alt the wrong way.

if the long bolt is out you just have to wiggle it back and fourth, maybe pry on it gently to work it out.
