hey, i am also seriously thinking of doing one of these swaps, i have done a bit of re-search and i believe that cutting is necessary to fit the h22a, in not sure about the b16, or 18, but i did find out that the b16a, and the b18c uses the same size block, the b16 is just a de-stroked 1.8. and the best place to find these motors is probably JMI (japan motor import) http://www.japanmotorimport.com/ i know you need a computer and wire harness, and axles. you might have to mod the axles. that i'm not sure of either. anyway. hope i was a bit of help, if anyone could clear some stuff up for me that would be great too, thanks

get a b18c1..it has the most potential for the money. The internals on the h22 are pretty weak compared to the b18. If you dont plan to mod the engine at all..IE turbo or NA build, you can go with the h22 for the extra torque. But if you plan to turbo or high end NA in the future the b18 is a better platform to start off at.

B18.
I can tell you are new to this from your post. Please do a lot of research before you take something like this on and take your car to a repitable shop. you get what you pay for.
If you really want an engine, get a K20 but it will cost much more for everything you need.

i'm seriously thinking about doing the b18c now. do you have to mod the engine mounts, or cut to make it fit? or will it basically bolt in? i plan to do the work myself. i'm a first year apprentice. so i have an idea about what i'm getting myself into, but its a vague idea. i'm guessing that wiring in the new computer is probably the hardest bit. does anybody know of any specialty tools that are needed? any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
