Hi, I am getting a 1991 honda civic dx everything is fine with it, I know the mechanic that did the work so I know its all good and clean. But i wanted some opinions on what i should do. beacuse i wanted to put a new engine in there, turbo, exhuast, rims, sound system, hc pistons... stuff liek that, and i wanted opinions if it is worth it doing it to that car or not.

well the problem is its an older car, so any number of things can start to fail and require more $$ to fix. i wouldnt go nuts throwing everything into it in case some major problems come up. if you swap a good enough engine, maybe you wont need to turbo it.

So you wouldn't go around putting say like a stage 2 clutch, HC pistions or things like that in it?

I know CRX hondas are really small and kind of gay looking but they are the lightest car ever! lol.

My friend had a B16 swap in one, bored to a 1.8 with a b18 head with skunk 2 internals and flowmaster exhaust and he ran a 10 sec. 1/4 mile.

He also had an 80 shot NOS but he got kicked off the track before he got to use it because he had no rollcage or helmet..

Other than that the Honda Civic DX models are the lightest civics. If you really like the car I would say go all out because you don't want to have a wack ride.

B16 would be sick in there or an H22. It wouldn't cost that much either.

I personally like the DX model because its not the gay little CRX. lol. You can fit subs in there too.

i drive a 91 dx hatch and i have a stock
b16 in it and it freakin flies its a good choice if your looking for the lighter, faster car..not really for looks!

Does anyone know about how much hp it would add if i put a Vtec head on my stock engine? im also putting in a k&N cold air intake system and a flowmaster exhaust..
