Another MPG Question
Another MPG Question
I just changed my trans fluid oil filter and fuel filter as well as air filter. I also put some fuel system cleaner in the tank. I have a test pipe instead of a cat, so I'm getting a check engine light. I used this idea a guy at pep boys gave me to insert a spacer between the o2 sensor which worked in getting rid of the check engine light but my gas has been just sucking out of my car ever since. It was way better with the check engine light. What's up with that am I crazy? Is it the fuel cleaner or the o2 sensor?
Re: Another MPG Question
hmmm...I have the do it yourself spark plug spacer/fouler....my afr's are just fine. So I guess you could argue I tuned around it with the turbo but I've done alot of headers/exhaust on civics/rsx etc.....I used the same method to turned off the code of the converter.......works great.
The 1st 02 sensor is your primary. The 2nd one is just there to monitor cat flow and check on the 1st one. DO NOT PUT IT ON THE FIRST 02 sensor....that will affect your car. The 2nd one is where the spacer goes

Re: Another MPG Question
I have a Lx and I put it on the 2nd one and it just seems when I had it on regular with the check engine light I had way better fuel milage. Do I even need the secondary one. I also feel a power difference and when it idles it is alot lower than with the light.

Re: Another MPG Question
with the engine light on, sometimes the ecu puts the car in safe mode and doesnt run as efficient. the second o2 sensor in the cat is useless, all it does is tell the ecu that the cat is working. does nothing to the way the car runs. UNLESS, you have a clogged cat and the light is telling you to replace it. clogged cat = bad news and will affect how the car runs alot
