Shifting into Reverse hard

Hi

I have a 2000 civic dx 4dr auto, the initial shift from park to reverse is hard but then its fine. I was wondering if anyone has an idea on what it maybe?

Thanks

Re: Shifting into Reverse hard

What do you mean 'hard'? It is hard to get it from park to reverse, as in there is strain on the shifter? Or is it a hard start after putting it into reverse from park?

RallyeRedRider has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Shifting into Reverse hard

If your parking on a hill you need to set the e-brake before you take your foot off the regular brake. If you put it in park and then let your foot off the brake before setting the parking brake then the car will roll until the tranny binds in park. Then it takes extra oomf to shift it out of park.
