hi folks,
newbie here. i've got an '89 civic hatchback si. i did an oil change recently and noticed a very small amount of oil at the driver side front of the the valve cover and some oil along the leading edge of the cover as well. i'm planning on replacing the gasket, tube seals and grommets but can't find any torque specs for the valve cover nuts. i've even called a local honda service dept. and they just said to tighten the nuts until the grommets are compressed.
anyone have the exact torque specs for this repair? i don't want to overtighten by mistake.

For the 7th gen, the specs are 7.2 lbf, but I don't even go that far sometimes - use a small *** ratchet and just get them to where it feels just a tad tighter than hand tight. You shouldn't be leaning on them or else you'll bust a bolt.
