Tach install problems 2001 civic Please Help

Just installed a tach and tapped into a solid blue wire near the firewall. I believe this is the wrong wire. Can someone please tell me the right wire to tap into, the exact location of the wire, and which blue wire it is because there is like 3 or 4 in the same spot? Thanks

There should be a tachometer test wire behind the passenger headlight, that's where most people I know have it spliced. It's blue with a white stripe.

I would also include the year of the car and if it's a coupe/sedan in the actual message. It took me a few seconds to see it in the title, others might completely over look it.

as far as I know, yes.

Make sure that the tach is powered and grounded correctly, as this kind of faulty wiring could also cause it to not work properly, if at all.

well you've tapped into my brain as much as you could, there are other methods of wiring a tach on an '01, but I know this is the easiest. The tach could be defective, but I'm sure someone else will post valuable information.

Again, blue white stripped wire near the passenger headlight with the weird plug at the end is the tach test wire, it should work so long as you have found suitable ground and a good power source.
