K&n

ok.. on the k&n site... they actually show the dyno charts showing horsepower and torque... do you think its an actual dyno... or a dyno that has been cheated with alittle... ????

I wouldn't go by those things. 5-10hp at the crank could mean 2-3 at the wheels anyway. The butt dyno tells me my intake added power and the sound is way cooler. Thats enough for me. At least there's better throttle response.

i did a dyno with K&N typhoon intake and gained 2whp above 5k rpms.

that sounds about right to me...i have a K&N Typhoon and it doesnt feel like I added more than 2 whp. The K&N site says 5 whp above 5k for our cars...but i wonder about that stat

I would only consider an intake for sound and for the good looks it adds to the engine bay.

If you want real power from these cars you will need to invest thousands of dollars.

remember the K&N dyno is for lx, which mods tend to give better performance. just due to the engine and exhaust system.

i thought it was tested on an automatic as well, which would be even less gains than with a manual. (the FIPK was tested on a 2001 EX manual and only claimed 4.8hp @ 6200rpm)
