how much hp with n/a setup
my friend wants to know how much hp do you think he could get out of this set up:
Forged Pistons
rods
port n polish
stage 2 cams with valve
header
intake
ehaust
test pipe
Apex VAFC II or hondata
pulleys
cam gear
flywheel
and tuned
and is it possible to bore it out to a 2.0l

This forum is for forced induction and swaps, moved to 7th gen engine.
I was actually thinking about a sleeve job and an overbore job. I don't know that 2 litres would be possible but I want to go as big as I can when I do it. He should go as high compression as possible for max power. Forget the AFC hack, hondata all the way. I would definitely run a stage III cam instead of II, I've spoken with tuners who've been very dissappointed with stage II even on turbo setups. Definitely should consider a good aftermarket intake manifold for max flow and some port work on the head. All and all, if he can get to 175 whp n/a, he's doing damned good.

Re: how much hp with n/a setup
not sure with OBDII, but an engineer i work with has a 92 hatch, B18 bottom, B16 VTEC head, OBDI ECU that he's programmed himself and his last dyno was 185HP, all N/A. i've been talking to him a lot about it since i want to start a project car soon. if you want to stay N/A, OBDI is a lot easier to work with from what i understand. you just put a DB9 connector on the ECU and hook a laptop to it to program/tune it.
