DIY Custom Gauges... coming soon!

Tru-dat! I came across someone's website a while ago, and he had a DIY section for his '89 accord. as you can imagine, there aren't many products out for those cars (besides VTEC stickers!) so he basically did everything from scratch. Clear tail lights, intake, white gauges, etc... anyways, I'm workin on my own set of white face gauges! All you'll need is a decent image editor and a printer with some photo-quality satin-finish paper -- i'll have a DIY guide posted within the next day or so when it's done. Yeah, i know it may sound ghetto, but I've actually already done this for a friend's '87 wrangler. It's gonna take a bit more work in the civic because the stock gauges light up from the back, not the front... so if you do this you'll also need to install some LEDs or other light source from the front. all in all it shouldn't be too hard, and as i said i'll try to get a guide up soon if anyone is interested.

Here's a sample of the speedo i'm working on... the actual file i'm working with is 6x larger and about 40MB, so that explains why it looks a little crappy. As for the mugen logo... lol... IT MAKES ME GO FASTER, YO!!! i dunno if i'll keep it on or not... opinions?

as for why i'm going thru all this work when i could just get indiglo gauges, it's because i don't really care for 'em. something bothers me about having greenish-blue gauges and then red climate-control/audio buttons... eeew...

definitly tight idea, but also take off Mugen, leave it clear, or put something else there, not a name brand...blah

I don't care for the indiglo either, just want some white gauges that work with the factory lighting but there are none to be found.

i personally like the stock guages and light color just fine on my EX Coupe....i dunno why anyone would want to change the red backlighting all around the car or the silver backed guages...but whatever
